Easy pizza dough

This pizza dough recipe is everything you want it to be. It’s light and fluffy, with a decent crunch right on the bottom.

With a 60 minute rise, you also won’t be waiting too long for your dough to be just right.

This recipe uses five simple, staple ingredients – honey, water, yeast, flour and olive oil – making it a budget friendly dish.

I top mine with pizza sauce from Woolies, mozzarella, and whatever I have in the fridge! Perfect!

And this is what I mean by the perfect base (yum!)

Light and fluffy with the perfect crunchy bottom, this dough makes for the ultimate home made pizza. With a 60 minute rise, it's also quick to pull together, making it a great weeknight meal. I top mine with pizza sauce from Woolies, mozzarella, and whatever I have in the fridge. So easy!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Activate your yeast

Stir together warm water, yeast and honey. Once combined, sit for 5-10 minutes. It should be a little frothy.

  2. Make your dough

Add your flour to a bowl. Make a well, then add your water/yeast mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon to combine.

  3. Knead your dough

Roll your dough out on a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.

  4. Rest your dough

Use your hands to lightly coat a bowl with olive oil, add your dough, then roll your dough around to coat it in oil. Rest for 60 minutes - it should double in size.

  5. Preheat your oven

Preheat your oven to 200C fan-forced

  6. Knead your dough again

Knead your dough again for 1-2 minutes. Do this on a clean surface (no flour). Your dough should have oil on it, so it shouldn't stick. If it is sticking, drizzle some olive oil on your bench.

  7. Divide your dough and roll out pizzas

Divide your dough into two sections - roll out each half into pizza sized shapes (around 30cm in diameter, and around 1/2 cm thick). Add to a pizza tray (I use a round baking tray with holes in it, from Kmart).

  8. Top your pizza

Cover your pizza with your base sauce (I use Leggo's Pizza Sauce Squeezy Tomato Paste), then top with mozzarella and your favourite toppings.

  9. Bake

Bake at 200C fan-forced for 15 minutes or until cheese and edges are starting to brown.

  10. Pizza cheers!

Allow to cool slightly, then cut into triangles or strips for your little ones. Enjoy!
